Scientist at AstraZeneca and Winner of the RSC Apprentice of the Year 2024, shared her apprenticeship journey into life sciences.

Karen Burgess
Learning & Development Business Partner at CPI, provided valuable insights into professional growth and the importance of talent development within the sector.

Solid State Team Leader at Onyx Scientific, offered her perspective on taking the leap of faith to go back to studying as a mature student leading to a major career change.
The evening also featured 12 poster entries from inspiring researchers on a range of topics including click chemistry, genetics, solid state chemistry, food science and STEM outreach. The winning entry was selected based on the quality and originality of the research posters, showcasing talent and diversity within life sciences. Congratulations to Kate Porter for their winning entry ‘The Potential of Faecal Markers for Dietary Intake Estimation’.
